GRANT and Maree Anderson’s 501 hectare (1238 acre) Wondai property Marshlands sold for $2.25 million at a Ray White Rural auction in Brisbane today.
Featuring a 1000 megalitre water allocation from the Barambah Creek, the property has 160ha developed for flood irrigation. The 650ML storage dam can be filled from creek or overland flow.
The country is described as predominantly black alluvial soils, red clay and grey mondure forest soils. There is an additional 40ha of dryland cultivation with the balance of the property being grazing country. Marshlands is estimated to comfortably run 120 breeders.
Marshlands also features the circa 1909 Robin Dods designed homestead, which features a 20m cloistered hallway, high ceilings over Mahogany floors, black bean timber walls and two double fronted brick fireplaces. Other improvements include a cottage, sheds, and stables.
Marshlands was marketed by Glen Duffin from Ray White Rural in Mundubbera.
