“I MET Jasmin at the gate. I was so excited to see her and have her back,” Jasmin’s owner, David Micalizzi said.
Jasmin, a Border Collie puppy, was reported missing from her Perth home on January 20 and was found 4000 kilometres away from home on a cattle property near Cloncurry in February.
Jasmin flew from Cloncurry back to Perth and has since settled back into her old lifestyle.
“We are still in a state of disbelief really, I mean it is incredible to have her back and we get to wake up every morning and see her smiling face,” David said.
“We picked her up from the airport at about 9pm. She was sound asleep and was very happy to see us when she awoke.
“She is still the same happy dog and I think every time she gets in the car she thinks she is going on a five day road trip.”
David said he wanted to thank everyone who assisted in her return.
When Jasmin went missing in January David placed advertisements in his local paper thinking she had accidentally gotten out of the yard. But after hiring a private investigator he realised she had been taken.
David said the investigator searched for the previous owner of Jasmin and discovered she had left town.

“The investigator found the previous owner selling her car on Gumtree and was located in Cloncurry,” he said.
“The investigator inquired about the car and asked for more photos. Jasmin was then spotted in the background of one of the photos, confirming her whereabouts.
“The investigator then gave the information to Cloncurry Stock and Rural Crime Investigation Squad (SARCIS).”
SARCIS detective sergeant, Liam Scanlan, said the Perth owner attained a lot of information in which they assessed and executed a search warrant of the property.
“We located and seized Jasmin and interviewed a 20-year-old female who was at the property.
“The 20-year-old female sold Jasmin to the owner (David) and a few weeks later she allegedly attended the address and retrieved the dog before relocating to Cloncurry.”
The 20-year-old female will appear in Cloncurry Magistrates Court in April for bringing stolen goods into Queensland.
