KATY Scott from Cloncurry will be representing North West Queensland and travelling to Warwick this weekend to compete in the final of Miss Rodeo Australia.
On Friday Ms Scott was required to attend radio interviews, talk to sponsors of the competition and conduct and introduction of herself and speech on her chosen charity Buy A Bale.
On Saturday she will be judged on her horsemanship at the Warwick Showground, take a written test at the Rodeo Heritage Centre, and in the evening conduct a speech on Australia and what rodeo means to her, before the winner will be announced.
Once the Australian Professional Rodeo circuit starts, the winner will travel to all the professional rodeos in australia.
The winner will be required to conduct grand entries at rodeos, represent Australia at the rodeo finals in America and Canada, chat to schools, visit hospitals and chat to people about the rodeos in their area.

Ms Scott said win or lose, she was proud to represent North West Queensland being from the best part of Australia.
“I am so excited for finals, because the journey has been such an amazing experience,” she said.
“I have grown as a person and I cannot believe how much the community has supported me, it has been overwhelming."
Ms Scott said she had been in contact with the other finalists and they were looking forward to meeting each other.
“I will be competing with a representative from South Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory.”
Ms Scott has been raising money for the Buy A Bale foundation through multiple events over the past month. She has hosted a ‘Boots and Bling’ ladies afternoon tea party and ‘Ride for Royalty’ horse trail ride raising a total of $5000.
A check for three thousand dollars was donated to the Buy A Bale on Thursday evening and the remaining two thousand was used for Ms Scott’s entry fees for the competition.
“It has been great to hold fundraising events like these as I know there isn’t much to do in our community,” Ms Scott said.
“I would like to thanks the generosity and support of North West Queensland community for their help and donations.”
