Aberdeen Poll Dorsets topped at $14,000 on October 6 and achieved an outstanding overall average of $2324 and 100 per cent clearance of the 180 rams offered by Simon and Melissa Male.
Breaking down the results, the eight stud rams sold averaged an impressive $10,375 and the 172 flock rams sold to average $1950.
The top ram is bound for Marrabel in South Australia, secured by the Rowett family, Ulandi Park Poll Dorsets.
“I liked his balance and overall correctness, and obviously his figures also stacked up,” principal Clayton Rowett said.
It was Ulandi Park’s first purchase of an Aberdeen sire – and the genetics on offer also enticed their son Charles to dig deep.
Charles has just registered his own stud – North Ulandi Poll Dorsets – and secured a ram on sale day for $2100.
