THOUSANDS of Territorians have discovered the free, easy way to check and manage their NT vehicle registration through the Northern Territory Government’s Rego application.
The application, free for both iPhones and androids, is part of a raft of Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR) reforms introduced throughout 2013 to create a more efficient and contemporary service.
Chief Minister Adam Giles said since the launch of NT REGO in August 2013, more than 5000 Territorians had downloaded the app for iPhones, and a further 2100 were using the android application.
“Now is a great time to remind people the application is available,” Mr Giles said.
“It’s free and it’s easy to download to phones, tablets or other devices,” he said.
“The friendly staff at MVR are happy to help customers download the app and get you started with the easy-to-use functions.
“In addition, Territorians from Darwin to Alyangula, Pine Creek to Borroloola, and all across Australia when they travel, are making use of the new MVR Australia Post capabilities, with more than 2500 transactions since August, including 912 licence renewals and 1993 registration renewals.
“This service is a fantastic convenience for urban, rural and remote MVR customers.
“Along with Saturday morning MVR trading and MVR Quickpay, the NTG Government is working hard to improve motor vehicle registry services.”
