It's not every day that professional rugby players turn up at your property willing to lend a hand in the banana patch, but it was a reality for Innisfail farmers Mark and Amanda Catelan.
Not even pouring rain could stop Reds players Harry Wilson and Jock Campbell from visiting farms and communities in Far North Queensland as part of the 2021 Reds to Regions tour.
From swimming with crocodiles, to participating in a junior rugby clinic, and harvesting bananas, the experiences were endless.
The key focus of the regional tour was for players to connect with the wider Queensland community.
Players and staff spread out across all parts of northern, western and southern Queensland, and were billeted out amongst different communities.
Innisfail was a new addition to this year's tour, where some players had the opportunity to learn about the sugar cane industry, visit the Victoria Mill and some local farms.
Reds head coach Brad Thorn was excited to bring the tour back in 2021.
"It was important for us to reconnect with the Queensland community," he said.
"The communities loved it and so did the players.
"It's all about care and connection between us and the people of Queensland, we're not the Brisbane Reds, we're the Queensland Reds."
