It's either the most appropriate day to hold it or the least appropriate depending on your view but Mount Isa will host an inquiry hearing into Sunday trading this Sunday.
Officially called the Inquiry into the operation of the Trading (Allowable Hours) Act 1990, it was called in September to reforms to the Act enacted in 2017.

The act prevents major shops such as Coles and Woolies in 23 towns including Mount Isa from opening on Sunday for five years to August 31, 2022.

Mount Isa City Council have already made a submission supporting Sunday trading and the Inquiry will hear from Mount Isans on this divisive issue at 7.30pm Sunday, November 21 at Ibis Styles.
Speaking to media earlier in the week, Inquiry committee chair Labor MP Kim Richards said the Mount Isa forum was shaping up to be one of the most well-subscribed forums in their tour across Queensland.
"We'll be hearing from a range of witnesses who have registered to speak such as the Mount Isa Tourism Association and the chamber of commerce," Ms Richards said.
People from the floor will also be allowed to speak.
