BULLS sold to a top of $20,000 three times to average $9264 at the Bunya Droughtmaster sale at Kingaroy.
Conducted by Aussie Land and Livestock and GDL with on line support from Elite Livestock Auctions, the 73 head catalogue achieved a $667,000 gross with a 98.6 per cent clearance.
First to hit the $20,000 top price was Vale View Dusty 2, a homozygous polled (PP) bull by Glenlands I Spy, which was offered by Dave and Colleen Smith. Dusty was knocked down to the Carter family, Cedar Springs Droughtmasters, Casino, NSW.
The Carters also bought Bryvonlea Ultimus, offered by Brian and Yvonne Heck for the sale topping $20,000 figure. The 27 month old was also a homozygous poll.
Wayne and Sue Caldwell, Kameruka, Ironpot, paid $20,000 for Vale View Damon 2, a heterozygous polled bull, which will be used in their 300 crossbred Angus, Droughtmaster and Charolais herd.
Damon is also set to used in the recently registered Old Sarum Droughtmaster stud operated by Wayne and Sue's daughter, Rachael Murray.
Second top price of $18,000 was paid by Turner Brothers, Childers, for By-Mingo Tyson, a 23 month old PP bull by Nygell.
Two bulls made $16,000, including the Nugent's Carnudge Jack Jack, which went to the Irwin family, Windy Gully, Bell.
Also making $16,000 was the polled bull Rangeview Baritone, which went to the Rhind family, Coolreach, Yerra.
The Haynes family, Waterford, Linville, paid $15,000 for the 20 month old PP bull RSVP Quagmire.
Carnudge Jerome (P) went to the Eggleston family, Toogoolawah, for $14,000.
A number of lots sold for $12,000 including: Tomawill Eastwood (P), Windy Gully 2060 (P), Birch Umpire (P), and the Ludwig family's Simto Hulk (P).
Volume buyer with five was the McConnel family's Mount Brisbane Pastoral Company, Esk. Weonia Grazing Company, Bollon, bought four. Anger and Hochmuth also took home four.
