THE on-property Benjarra Limousin sale at Ellangowan topped $14,000 to average $8375.
Conducted by Nutrien Livestock with online support from AuctionsPlus, the sale of 24 bulls and four females from Benjarra and AT Limousin studs resulted in strong competition.
Sale topper was the 930kg, 22 month old Benjarra Quizmaster. The long, soft son of Kentucky drew plenty of attention with excellent birth weight and 200, 400 and 600 day growth figures.
Quizmaster was presented with 14mm and 10mm fat measurements, an impressive 153 square centimetre eye muscle area, and 4.5pc intramuscular fat.
The bull sold to NSW Northern Rivers buyers Rodney Bailey, Yabbra Park, Old Bonalbo, who bought Quizmaster as a gift for his granddaughter and UNE agriculture student Taylah Makejev, to breed led steers.
Second top price at $13,000 was Benjarra Quilo. The thick black, polled 23 month old by Five Star Canadian Club sold to Bill and Coralie Stewart, Canning Downs, Warwick. Benjarra Quick Time by LFLC Denver also went to Canning Downs for $11,000.
Quilo at 810kg had a 147sq cm EMA and 9mm and 7mm fat measurements.
Also in the money at $12,000 was Benjarra Quality Made, a scurred red, which sold to Stanton and Nicklin at Mount Kilcoy. The first son of Red Rock Jock to hit the selling ring, the 22 month old weighed 936kg and had a catalogue topping 157sq cm EMA.
Benjarra Qldlander also made $12,000 selling to Garry Wilson, Allora. Another son of Kentucky, the long bodied black polled 24 month old had 10mm and 7mm fat figures, 4.7 pc IMF and a 150sq cm EMA.
Sale starter Benjarra Question Time by Five Star Canadian Club. went to Glen Innes for $11,000.
Julie Simmons, Clifton, paid $10,000 for the black scurred Benjarra Quota, another by Canadian Club.
BKM Pastoral Company, Ghinghindi, Taroom, also paid $10,000 AT Quantico, a black polled 23 month old.
The Rizzato family, Dalveen, bought two for $9000, including AT Quasi, a lengthy 23 month old son of Lewis.
Volume buyer was Skew Queensland, Rosebank, Charleville, with five for an average $6200.
The four females sold topped $5500, to average $5125.
The top heifer was the eye catching 11 month old polled, black AT Raven, which sold to Chris Bourke, Burradoo, Sandy Camp.
The female is set to be flushed.
