More than 750 competitors are in Mount Isa this weekend for the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo and thousands of spectators have joined them to watch the action.
Comptitors are angling for their share of $230,000 of prize money on offer this year.
A bumper crowd filled Buchanan Park on Friday night to watch the first official night of rodeo action including the Op Shop Barrel Race won by Brandee Ferguson as Jessie from Toy Story on board her 12-year-old gelding, Raven.
In other early results; the junior barrel was won by Olivia Priestly-Halliday (35.248), junior team roping was won by Tyler Kenny (7.60) and junior breakaway to Hannah Phillips (2.85).
