The lockdown in Townsville, Magnetic Island Palm Island, Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Lockyer and Somerset will end tonight at 6pm after the state recored three new cases of COVID-19.
Brisbane and Moreton regions will remain in lockdown for another 24 hours, after a mother and daughter travelled to an "extensive list" of locations while infectious.
The third case is the partner of the international airport worker, who was identified yesterday and has been in quarantine during their infectious period.
The source of the mother and daughter cases have not yet been identified.
All local government areas that are leaving lockdown will still be under strict COVID restrictions including mandatory face masks.
Queensland's chief medical officer Dr Jeanette Young said that the family who travelled through Northern Australia while infectious where there for only a "short time".
"You can tell they [the family] have managed to not go out broadly," she said.
"The amount of testing that has been done up there has been absolutely fantastic, that is why I'm pretty confident."
Dr Young said that the state conducted nearly 27,000 COVID tests overnight and that it is "unlikely" that there is a "significant" amount of community transmission happening.
"The testing rate is fantastic," Dr Young said.
"I'm very, very grateful they [the mother and daughter] came forward, they weren't known contacts, they hadn't been to places that would trigger a thought in someone's mind, they have come forward and got tested and so now we can come forward and investigate how they might have got it."
