Emerald agents yarded a total of 1330 head for Thursday's sale, and saw a resurgence in price from most categories across the day, with demand from both restockers and processors driving good competition in the gallery.

Heavy bullocks over 550kg sold to a top of 347c to average 345c, bullocks from 500-550kg sold to a top of 414c to average 367c, steers from 400-500kg topped at 429c to average 398c, feeder weight steers from 350-400kg sold to 442c to average 412c, 280-350kg steers sold to a top of 549c to average 499c, while weaner steers from 200-280kg topped at 598c to average 552c.

Heavy heifers over 400kg sold to a top of 407c to average 339c, 350-400kg feeder heifers sold to 424c to average 398c, 280-350kg heifers sold to 448c to average 419c, while 200-280kg weaner heifers sold to a top of 510c to average 458c.

Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 280c to average 274c, heavy bulls over 600kg topped at 333c to average 285c, while a good draft of Brangus cows and calves sold for $2800.

The Prewett family, Glendariwell, Emerald, sold Brangus steers to 598c weighing 221kg to return $1323. The heifers in the same consignment sold to 510c weighing 251kg for a $1281 return. The Woolcock family, Oakey Creek, Springsure, sold Brahman steers to 401c weighing 496kg to return $1989. Andrew Deboni, Boonal Downs, Capella, consigned 15 Brangus cows and calves to return $2800/unit.
