Monto Cattle and Country's fortnightly fat and store cattle sale saw 434 head yarded. All markets held very strong particularly feeder steers and young cattle.
Heavy bulls sold from 298 to 317c, however no bullocks were yarded for this sale.
John Hotz yarded Brahman cross cows which averaged 490kg to return $1380 or 282c. I and L Rideout's 540kg Red Brahman cows sold for 283c or $1530. P and N Jamieson sold Charbray cows for $1600 or 282c. Charbray store cows on account of Barlu Farms averaged 412kg for $1165 or 282c.
R and K Staines yarded Senepol cross No. 9 steers averaging 415kg which sold for 430 and 425c topping at $1787. K Hockey's 384kg No. 9 Brahman cross steers sold for 430c or $1650. 416kg Braford steers sold for 425c or $1770.
Santa No. 0 steers weighing 375kg on account of KJ Keiler returned $1650 or 440c. VI and AC Goody's 350kg Droughtmaster cross No. 0 steers sold for 452c or $1587. IK and TD Sanderson's 465kg No. 0 Charolais feeder steers made 435c or $2022. CC Horrocks penned Charbray cross No. 0 steers weighing 397kg to realise 437c or $1735.
Droughtmaster steers weighing 238kg on account of N and J Keitley sold for 514c or $1227. RC Bowman's Charbray weaner steers sold for $1115 or 550c. Barlu Farms sold 205kg Charbray weaner steers for 592c or $1210 and reached a sale record of 620c for their 155kg steers to make $960.
NG Mossman's aged Brahman cows and calves sold for $2040/unit.
Leon Turner sold 300kg Charbray No. 0 heifers for 418c or $1260. IK and TD Sanderson sold Charolais cross heifers weighing 318kg for 432c or $1375. N and J Keitley's Droughtmaster heifers averaged 280kg returning 455c or $1272. Braford heifers weighing 210kg sold for 470c or $985. Brangus weaner heifers 212kg sold for $1035 or 488c. DR Voss sold Brangus cross weaner heifers for 484c or $740.
