CQLX Gracemere combined agents had an increased yarding of 3411 head on March 31, comprising 1677 steers, 1350 heifers, 298 cows and 59 bulls.
Cattle were drawn from south to Gin Gin and included a large consignment of quality Brahman and Brahman cross steers and heifers from Mount Coolon. Overall it was a very good quality, well presented yarding of cattle.
Competition came from the usual processors together with an increased line-up of feeder and restocker buyers and saw prices improve across most of the yard.
Slaughter steers sold to 422c, average 406c, steers 400-500kg made 444c, average 415c, steers 300-400kg reached 568c, average 455c, steers 200-300kg made 612c, average 531c and steers under 200kg sold to 574c, average 510c.
Slaughter cows sold to 382c, average 275c, cows 400-450kg made 348c, average 283c, cows 320-400kg reached 300c, average 268c, and cows under 320kg made 248c, average 236c.
Heavy heifers sold to 370c, average 354c, heifers 300-400kg made 444c, average 395c, heifers 200-300kg reached 496c, average 439c, and heifers under 200kg made 512c, average 470c.
Cows and calves sold to $2520/unit, average $1893/unit.
Bulls over 600kg made 320c, average 283c, bulls 450-600kg reached 348c, average 312c and bulls under 450kg sold to 520c, average 393c.
