Mareeba combined agents penned a total of 546 head at last week's prime and special store cattle sale, an increase of 83 on the previous week.
One local processor was present along with four traders, a large gallery of local spectators and a few local buyers. It was another strong sale with quality cattle selling well.
The yarding consisted of 173 steers averaging 400.4c/kg selling to a top of 420.2c/kg, 26 bulls averaging 358.1c/kg selling to a top of 428.2c/kg, 56 cows averaging 238.3c/kg selling to a top of 270c/kg, 118 heifers averaging 334.3c/kg selling to a top of 420.2c/kg, 57 yearling heifers averaging 418.9c/kg selling to a top of 448.2c/kg and 106 yearling steers averaging 488.6c/kg selling to a top of 518.2c/kg.
