Last Thursday's Emerald sale yarding increased by 746 head to 2453 head.
It was a mixed yarding in condition and quality drawn from the local area as well as Nebo and Alpha.
The usual processors and feeders were present and operating along with some extra restockers.
Competition was strong and values for many lines were unchanged or improved.
Yearling steers sold to a top of 565c with a large sample averaging 543c in the under 280kg pens, whilst the 280 to 330kg types averaged 519c/kg.
Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg topped at 485c to restockers to average 470c whilst those to processors averaged 448c/kg. Heavier lines sold to average from 389c to 442c/kg.
Feedlots paid from 408 to 436c for grown steers with processor pens making to 379c to average from 365c to 372c/kg.
Grown heifers going to feed averaged from 365c to 395c and sold to a top of 422c/kg.
Processors purchased the grown heifers to average from 341c to 346c/kg.
Heavy 4 score cows made to 293c to return an unchanged 281c/kg average.
Heavy bulls went mostly to live export with a top of 354c and average of 311c/kg.
A larger than usual offering of cows and calves saw the better quality units make from $1675 to $2140/unit.
