SHE might only be 20-years-old, but Megan Kent, Ooline M Brahmans, Goovigen, is shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with in the seedstock industry.
As a first-time vendor at the Big Country sale, Ms Kent sold three grey Brahman bulls to average an impressive $37,333.
Ms Kent achieved a top price of $46,000 when Ooline M Baymax 15 (PS) sold to the Brownson family, Burdekin Brahmans.
The 29-month-old son of Jomanda El Toro 802 (PS) drew attention for his extraordinary growth and weight for age, coming in at a hefty 1064kg with an impressive EMA of 153sq cm and a scrotal measurement of 46cm.
Ms Kent sold her first bull in 2017 and has sold at Brahman Week.
Prior to Big Country, her best result was $12,000.
Growing up on her parents' stud, Ms Kent said Brahmans are in the blood and her passion for the industry was like an addiction.
"Growing up around it, it's been a passion of mine my whole life and it has pretty much always been the goal to sell my own bulls," Ms Kent said.
She said the three bull she took to Big Country were given to her by her parents as calves during the drought, as payment for working on the property.
"I put all the work and time into them, it's something I really enjoy doing. I knew they were good bulls, but I was thrilled with the result. Not many 20-year-olds can say they've done that."
