FEMALES were in hot demand at the 2021 Big Country Brahman sale with 108 heifers selling to record 100 per cent clearance.
The 26 red and 82 grey heifers grossed $725,000 to average $6715.
Brett Nobbs, Nobbs Cattle Co, Duaringa, sold both the top and second top priced heifers, which are both 13-month-old daughters of NCC Red Odyssey (PS).
NCC Dienka 5039 (IVF) attracted a top price of $32,000, far surpassing the 2020 sale's top female priced of $10,500.
Buyers Darren and Hayden Pedracini, Lornevale Station, Georgetown, said they were impressed with her EMA, hump setting, back muscle pattern, topline, strong head and hooded eye.
Darren Pedracini said they had been chasing the bloodlines from her dam, NCC Dienka 238, and described her as a beautiful all round female.
The family plan to put her in an IVF program at home.
Mr Pedracini said he had previously bought heifers from Mr Nobbs at Big Country, which were preforming well and were now both in-calf.
All up, the Pedracini family purchased three heifers and three bulls on day one of Big Country.
The second top priced female, NCC Dancing Queen 5386 (IVF) (PS) sold to the Brownson family, Brownson Brahmans, Charters Towers.
The daughter of NCC Red Odyssey (PS) was out of NCC Dancing Queen 2212.
