Emerald agents experienced a smaller yarding this week with just over 200 head for sale. All usual processor buyers were present and with some restocker buyers also in the gallery, good results were seen across the yard.
Heavy bullocks sold to a top of 378c to average 355c, steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 394c to average 394c, feeder weight steers from 350-400kg sold to 397c to average 377c, 280-350kg steers sold to a top of 492c to average 388c, weaner steers from 200-280kg topped at 492c to average 422c, while weaner steers under 200kg sold to a top of 498c to average 461c.
Heavy heifers over 400kg sold to a top of 334c to average 325c, feeder weight heifers 350-400kg topped at 354c to average 345c, 280-350kg heifers sold to 382c to average 360c, 200-280kg weaner heifers sold to a top of 410c to average 383c, while heifers under 200kg sold to a top of 408c to average 394c.
Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 299c to average 276c, cows from 450-520 kg sold to 297c to average 265c, while heavy bulls over 600kg topped at 340c to average 304c.
The Flohr family, Wotonga, Moranbah, sold Droughtmaster steers to 498c to weigh 180kg or $899. The Sullivan family, Talagai, Capella, sold Droughtmaster cows to 284c to weigh 600kg and returned $1707. Rob and Kylie Cunningham, Myrtle Park, Comet, sold Santa cross heifers making to 376c and weighed 343kg to return $1292. Wayne and Ingrid York, Pangkarra, Emerald, sold Simmental heifers to 410c to weigh 225kg or $922. The Sibson family, Cotherstone, Dysart, sold a large draft of Brahman cross heifers topping at 404c to weigh 182kg or $738.
