Mareeba combined agents penned a total of 1625 head at this week's prime and special store cattle sale, a decrease of 207 head on the previous week.
Two local processors were present along with four traders and a large gallery of local buyers. With strong competition, there were more new saleyards records for meatworks bulls and meatworks ox.
The yarding consisted of 389 steers averaging 336.7c/kg selling to a top of 390c (new saleyards record for meatworks ox at 390c), 502 bulls averaging 307.1c selling to a top of 406.2c (new saleyards record for meatworks bulls at 398.2c), 227 cows averaging 243.2c selling to a top of 312.2c, 248 heifers averaging 331c selling to a top of 372.2c, 168 yearling heifers averaging 335.8c selling to a top of 379.2c and 85 yearling steers averaging 362c selling to a top of 384.2c.
The last Mareeba sale for 2020 will be December 8.
