Charters Towers combined agents yarded a total of 2224 cattle, consisting of 2077 prime cattle and 147 store cattle on Wednesday.
The prime cattle consisted of 385 bullocks, 133 heifers, 1147 cows and 412 bulls. Store cattle consisted of 75 steers and 72 heifers. Cattle comprised of good runs of bullocks and cows.
Herd bulls were also well represented and continued to sell to record rates. The yarding was drawn from Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Richmond, Hughenden, as well as local and coastal areas.
Bullocks were quoted 10c/kg dearer, heifers were unchanged, cows were 5c dearer and bulls 10c dearer on last week's rates.
Prime quotes:
Bullocks topped at 375c for 10 ox sold by T and T Mills that weighed 665kg to return $2493/head. Best priced trade heifers were presented by Rapisarda, and sold for 340/kg, weighing 379kg to return $1289.
The top pen of cows were sold by R Flute for 327c, weighing 528kg to return $1738. Bulls sold on account of Philipson Holdings topped at 350c and weighed 56kg, to return $1960.

Store cattle were in limited supply due to a projected 3500 head being presented at Friday's Charters Towers store sale.
A pen of 13 steers from G Gilmore made 426c and weighed 222kg, returning an average of $945. A good pen of two Heifers from Creekwood Beef made 396c, weighed 260kg and returned $1030.
