Monto Cattle & Country yarded 716 head on September 23 for their fortnightly fat and store sale with nice showers around the area during the morning.
Prices held steady with more fat cattle yarded to increase price per head average for the sale to $1087.
Quotes from the day included bulls selling to 264c, bullocks sold from 285 to 380c, cows matched last sale with 278c, steers topped at 489c while heifers made 389c.
Fat cattle numbers increased considerably on the previous yarding with bulls offered through the yards making 230 to 264c.
HF Ball's Brahman bullocks made 309c to realise $1690. Fat heifers reached 330c or $1641 for Luke and Mac Aisthorpe's Brangus cross heifers. Brahman cows offered by NS Ludlow made 270c or $1195/hd. TL Moore's Droughtmaster cows made $1315 or 258c.
Store steers reached 489c for RCL Parks' Brangus steers which averaged 232kg to return $1138. Black & Gold offered heavy Red Brangus and Santa cross steers which realised $1880 at 365c and $1682 at 386c respectively. AJ Allison offered Brangus steers averaging 233kg to realise $1122/hd at 480c. Ashenhurst Partnership yarded Charbray cross weaner steers for 465c or $990/hd.
SM Schimke offered 415kg Droughtmaster heifers making 363c or $1507. Charolais cross heifers offered by AG and TM Sibson made 385c or $1099. AJ Allison sold Brangus weaner heifers for 389c or $839/hd.
