With a much smaller yarding evident this week on the back of last week's larger sale, just over 1100 head were penned at Emerald on Thursday.
The yarding consisted of a number of light weight weaner cattle with a selected offering of slaughter and feeder types.
Heavy bullocks made to 324c/kg to average 320c, steers 400-500kg topped at 355c, steers 280-350kg reached 447c to average 387c, while weaner weight types topped at 451c to average 426c.
Heifers over 400kg topped at 334c, 350-400kg heifers reached 351c, while weaner weight types topped at 399c to average 370c.
Heavy cows topped at 275c to average 255c, while cows 450-520kg reached 269c to average 260c. A mixed pen of cows and calves made to $1200/unit.
The Daniels family, Stony Brook, Springsure, sold Santa bullocks to 322c for 662kg and returned $2135. The Daniels family, Theresa Downs, Capella, sold Euro cross cows to 249c to weigh 534kg or $1330. Leichhardt Pastoral, Leichhardt, Dysart, sold Brahman cross cows to 265c to weigh 527kg or $1399.
