Charters Towers combined agents yarded a total of 3124 cattle, consisting of 1384 prime cattle and 1740 store cattle.
The prime cattle consisted of 364 bullocks, 145 heifers, 765 cows and 110 bulls. Store cattle consisted of 816 steers, 601 heifers, 20 cows and calves and 303 mickeys.
Cattle comprised a mixed yarding of bullocks with some very good lines of cows.
The yarding was drawn from Cloncurry, Georgetown, The Gulf, Croydon, Ayr, Townsville Coastal and local areas.
Bullocks were quoted 5c dearer heifers were 2c dearer, cows were 10c dearer and bulls were 10c dearer on last week's rates.

Steers and bullocks under 500kg sold to 356.2c and averaged 319.7c, and those over 500kg topped at 333.2c to average 309.8c. Heifers under 440kg sold to 314.2c and averaged 288.9c, while heifers over 440kg topped at 300.2c, averaging 298.2c. Cows under 400kg made 254.2c and averaged 214.1c, while cows over 400kg reached 282.2c, averaging 262c. Bulls under 450kg made 360.2c and averaged 316.9c, while bulls over 450kg reached 338.2c to average 291.1c.
Bullocks topped at 333.2c for eight ox sold on a/c SP Grazing, that weighed 666kg to return $2220/hd. Best priced trade heifers were presented on a/c Mt Douglas P/c that sold for 314.2c and weighed 374, to return $1174/hd.
The top pen of cows were sold by Elrose Enterprises for 282.2c, weighing 598kg to return $1687/hd. Bulls sold on a/c Cape Cleveland topped at 338.2c and weighed 510kg, to return $1724/hd.

Steers under 200kg reached 388.2c to average 293.5c, steers 200 - 320kg sold to 376.2c, averaging 335.7c, and steers 320 - 400kg topped at 356.2c and averaged 327.2c. Mickeys under 400kg sold to 360c, averaging 300c. Heifers under 200kg topped at 344.2c and averaged 286.1c, heifers 200 - 320kg sold to 338.2c, averaging 289.3c, and heifers 320 - 370kg made 304.2c to average 280.7c.
A pen of 10 steers a/c Traxford made 388.2c and weighed 165kg, returning an average of $640/hd. A good pen of nine heifers a/c BW and MI Landsberg made 344.2c, weighed 189kg and returned an average of $650/hd. Eight cows and calves sold on a/c W Adams returned $1120/unit.
