Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 880 head at this week's prime and special store cattle sale, an increase of 277 head on the previous week.
One local processor was present along with a couple of traders and a large gallery of local buyers. Prices increased across the board with good quality cattle selling well.
The yarding consisted of 290 steers averaging 279.8c selling to a top of 344.2/kg, 130 bulls averaging 235.8c selling to a top of 319.2c, 201 cows averaging 200.2c selling to a top of 262.2c, 78 heifers averaging 211.8c selling to a top of 304.2c, 136 yearling heifers averaging 251.9/kg selling to a top of 300c and 45 yearling steers averaging 335.4c selling to a top of 362.2c.
