Restockers were very active at Gracemere on Wednesday.

CQLX combined agents saw a large increase of numbers, yarding a total of 3440 head, comprising 1822 steers, 1034 heifers, 489 cows, 90 bulls and four cows and calves.

With a stronger buyer panel throughout the sale, prices responded accordingly. The prime market sold to a dearer trend. A larger offering of feeder cattle saw a lift in prices.

The weaner steers and heifers also sold to a dearer trend, with re-stockers being very active. Cattle were sourced from Collinsville, Bowen, Nebo, Calliope and local areas.

Slaughter steers sold to 354c, average 315c, steers 400-500kg made 408c, average 330c, steers 300-400kg reached 408c, average 342c, steers 200-300kg made 450c, average 376c and steers under 200kg sold to 461c, average 390c.

Slaughter cows sold to 319c, average 252c, cows 400-450kg made 249c, average 235c, cows 320-400kg reached 286c, average 208c, and cows under 320kg made 211c, average 207c.

Heavy heifers sold to 355c, average 304c, heifers 300-400kg made 350c, average 327c, heifers 200-300kg reached 382c, average 328c, and heifers under 200kg made 350c, average 311c.

Cows and calves sold to $1400/unit, average $1300/unit.

Bulls over 600kg made 326c, average 292c, bulls 450-600kg reached 324c, average 313c and bulls under 450kg sold to 400c, average 307c.

Sam Kime, Amaroo Station, Nebo, sold red and black Brangus No.8 steers for 354c weighing 562kg to return $1990. Dale McLellan, Mt Morgan, sold Charbray steers to 388c, weighing 385kg, to return $1495/hd.

Judith Hamilton, Thangool, sold a pen of Droughtmaster steers for 378c, weighing 374kg, to return $1413/hd. The Derrington family, Mt Larcom, sold a pen of Droughtmaster steers for 368c, weighing 418kg, to return $1541/hd.
