After a week of unseasonal temperatures in the high 30s, the mercury is set for a big dive in north west Queensland.
While Monday's forecast is for a high of 35 degrees and tomorrow is set for 33 degrees and Wednesday still 34 degrees, the maximum temps will dip significantly later in the week.
The big change comes on Thursday when northeasterly winds give way to cooler southerlies bringing colder weather up from the south of the continent.
Thursday's maximum is 27 and Friday's dips down to 24, the same again for Saturday before rising to 26 on Sunday,
It might be time to get the doona out if you haven't already done so with overnight minimums also falling from 18 at the start of the week to just nine degrees at the end of the week.
The weather will remain sunny for the forecast period with no rain expected in the forseeable future.
