DESPITE the Royal Queensland Show being cancelled for 2020, the Ekka's off-site JBS Paddock to Palate competitions will continue.
RNA beef committee chairman Gary Noller said the entries in the 70 day, 100 day and Wagyu competitions were currently being fed, with the winners to be announced in August.
"Obviously we won't be having field days or the usual presentation events at the Ekka," Mr Noller said.
"But we'll still be announcing the winners. Depending on what is happening with the coronavirus, we're hoping we can still have a event later in the year to hand over the trophies and ribbons."
Entries in the 70 day fed class closed on Friday, with the cattle being inducted and weighed at Beef City today.
Entries in the 400 day Wagyu competition, which is being run at Smithfield's Sapphire Feedlot at Goondiwindi, were inducted in May last year. Entries are now being taken for the 2021 Wagyu competition.
Entires in the Coles, Woolworths and JBS carcase competitions close in mid-June.
Mr Noller said mid-term weigh gains would also be released in June.
