With numbers increasing to 4000 head on Thursday, Emerald agents experienced very little change on the back of the previous week's prices.
A select few heavy bullocks were present while cows eased slightly due to the number on offer. Feeder and weaner categories were well represented with most improving in rate.
Steers over 500kg reached 339c to average 335c, 400-500kg steers topped at 392c to average 339c, steers 350-400kg topped at 395c to average 349c, while the 280-350kg steers made to 404c to average 363c, steers in the weaner weight ranges topped at 414c to average 335c.
Heavy heifers over 400kg topped at 366c to average 330c, 350-400kg heifers made to 372c to average 347c, heifers 280-350kg topped at 371c to average 331c, while heifers in the weaner weight ranges topped at 360c to average 314c.
Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 304c to average 295c, while cows 450-520kg topped at 300c to average 287c. A mixed quality line up of cows and calves were on offer with about 50 in total with the best pen making to $1470/unit.
Andrew and Marleene Slack, Mayview, Emerald sold Angus cross steers to 397c to weigh 262kg or $1042. The Prewett family, Glendariwell, Emerald, sold Brangus steers to 375c to weigh 288kg and returned $1081.
The Sibson family, Cotherstone, Dysart, consigned Brahman cross heifers reaching 353c to weigh 163kg or $578. The Prince family, Melaleuca, Capella, sold Droughtmaster heifers to 367c and weighed 294kg to return $1082.
Alan and Clare Kirby, Wonga, Springsure, sold Euro cross cows to 291c and weighed 597kg to return $1739. Lee and Tanielle Challacombe, Riveree, Capella, sold Brahman cross cows to 286c to weigh 480kg or $1376.
