Eidsvold Livestock and Property held their first sale for 2020 on January 15 with a yarding of 221 head plus 19 cows and calves.
The market started positively with most lines of cattle increasing from the close of business last year. Steers 300 - 400 kg sold to 279c/kg to average 266kg, which is an increase of over 20c/kg from the previous sale.
In general, there was a good line-up of cattle with prices improving throughout.
Santa cross steers from Eidsvold sold for 278c/kg at 620kg returning $1724/head. Droughtmaster cross steers from Eidsvold sold for 262c/kg at 285kg returning $748/head.
Brahman cross steers from Gayndah sold for 279c/kg at 336kg returning $940/head. Droughtmaster cross heifers from Mundubbera sold for 236c/kg at 315kg returning $744/head.
Braford cows and calves from Mundubbera sold for $940/unit. Brangus cross heifers from Monto sold for 240c/kg at 267kg returning $642/head.
