SEVEN race clubs, including Mareeba, will be replaced as hosts for the 2020 rendition of the Battle of the Bush series.

In their place will be newcomers Charters Towers and Innisfail as well as Gordonvale, which is backing up after hosting a qualifying race in 2019.

The series final, which also provides a $30,000 bonus to the winner if it is a Queensland Thoroughbred Incentive Scheme registered horse, will be part of the program for the Tatt's Tiara raceday when it concludes with the $125,000 final in Brisbane on June 20.

The series opens at the Quilpie Diggers Race Club meeting on May 2 and will again feature 16 qualifiers (two per country region), with the final heats at Barcaldine and Gayndah on June 6.
