There was a smaller yarding at Emerald for the final sale for 2019, with a mixed quality line-up on offer.

Slaughter cattle and feed on steers quoted dearer, while all other categories lost ground on last week's sale.

Heavy bullocks made to 291c/kg, while the 400-500kg steers reached 299c to average 267c, 350-400kg types topped at 298c to average 278c, with steers 280-350 topping at 280c to average 259c, while light weight steers made to 263c to average 202c.

Heavy heifers over 400kg topped at 235c to average 230c, while heifers 350-400kg reached 228 cent, 280-350kg heifers topped at 218c to average 184c, while light weight heifers reached 180c to average 131c.

Cows over 520kg topped at 214c to average 205c, while 450-520kg cows reached 207c to average 194c. A mixed lineup of cows and calves topped at $420/unit.

Rhonda Ryan, Banyula, Emerald, sold Braford steers to 270c to weigh 351kg or $948. The Jago family, Moramana, Clermont, sold Santa cross steers to 280c to weigh 398kg or $1114. James Keleher, Jalee, Blackwater, sold Droughtmaster cows to 212c to weigh 557kg or $1181.
