Update: 8.37am - The 34-year-old man reported missing in remote countryside at Duchess, approximately 105km east of Dajarra, has been located safe and well.
The search in the Richmond area is ongoing.
Earlier today it was reported that police land and air searches were underway in two separate locations in Queensland's north west to try and locate two men who have gone missing, one east of Dajarra and another near Richmond.
At around 11am on Saturday police in the Mount Isa district were contacted after a white 4WD was located abandoned on the Cloncurry-Duchess Road, Duchess.
Their investigations showed that 34-year-old Matthew Ashcroft, from Oxenford, was last seen with the vehicle in Mount Isa on the afternoon of Thursday, November 28.
When it was discovered on Saturday morning it had run out of fuel and police fear Mr Ashcroft may have walked off into the harsh and remote terrain, which is currently experiencing very high temperatures.
The nearest town is approximately 100km away and the nearest station around 80km away.
Police are also investigating whether Mr Ashcroft contacted anyone to arrange a lift.
A search on Saturday involving police and a helicopter failed to locate him, and was continuing on Sunday morning, with police, SES and helicopter support.
Meanwhile, a 4WD vehicle found abandoned on a cattle property 75km west of Richmond last Wednesday, November 27, has sparked a land and air search for 25-year-old Trent Grose.
The vehicle, which had a flat battery, was located by a station owner in an isolated area on the property and police surmise it had been there for several days before it was found.
After being notified of the abandoned vehicle and making enquiries, police believe Mr Grose was the driver. They understand he last had contact with friends around two weeks ago.
Police hold fears for his welfare as the area is remote and experiencing high temperatures.
Mr Grose, who has previously worked on rural properties in central Queensland, did not work at this property.
Searches on Saturday involving police and two helicopters failed to locate Mr Grose and searches resumed on Sunday morning with police, SES, local station personnel and equipment, as well as helicopter support.
Mr Grose is described as caucasian, approximately 195cms tall, with a proportionate build, short brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone who has any information that can assist in locating either Mr Ashcroft or Mr Grose is urged to contact police or ring 131 444.
