Emerald Agents yarded 1300 fewer cattle than last week with just under 1800 head on offer.
All categories eased in value, as large numbers of cattle and persisting dry continues across most of Qld and NSW.
Slaughter and feeder weight categories dominated the yarding once again.
Heavy bullocks made to 287c/kg to average 281c, steers 500-550kg topped at 288c to average 280c, while the 400-500kg steers made to 313c to average 290c. Heavy heifers over 400kg topped at 278c to average 247c, heifers 350-400kg topped at 271c to average 239c. Cows over 520kg topped at 229c to average 196c, with the 450-520kg types making to 233c to average 210c. No cows and calves were penned.
Sale Highlights: Dean Eyles, Capella, sold Brangus steers to 292c to weigh 439kg or $1283. Greg Hutton, Togara, Comet, sold Droughtmaster heifers to 266c to weigh 420kg or $1120.
The Feddersen family, Whitdale, Rubyvale, sold Santa heifers to 254c to weigh 476kg or $1211. Peter and Jenny Pocock, Highlands Plains, Dysart, sold Brahman cross cows to 221c and weighed 549kg to return $1214.
Carinyah Grazing, Carinyah, Willows, sold steers to 312c to weigh 450kg or $1407. Ed Investments, Rockland Springs, sold feeder heifers to 278c to weigh 422kg or $1175. Rob and Gayle Donaldson, Roblee, Bogantungan, sold Droughtmaster cows to 228c to weigh 540kg and gross $1232/hd.
Wayne and Janelle Gakowski, Karavella West, sold Droughtmaster cross heifers to 271c to weigh 383kg and gross $1040/hd. Steve and Alison Kajewski, Bettafield, Gindie sold Charolais cows to 225c to weigh 721kg and gross $1632/hd.
