Mareeba combined agents penned a total of 661 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale.
Numbers increased by 283 head on last week. It was a strong market again this week with good cattle selling well but plainer cattle struggling.
The yarding consisted of 232 bulls averaging 187.3c/kg selling to a top of 294.2c, 76 cows averaging 189.7c selling to a top of 248.2c, 60 heifers averaging 185.4c selling to a top of 256.2c, 218 steers averaging 270.9c selling to a top of 310c, 65 yearling heifers averaging 177.3c selling to a top of 236.2c, four yearling steers averaging 263.2c selling to a top of 263.2c, and six cow and calf units sold for $210/unit.
