Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 727 head for their weekly sale on Wednesday October 30.
The prime cattle consisted of 84 bullocks, 20 heifers, 260 cows and 63 bulls. Store cattle consisted of 189 steers, 107 heifers and 4 cows with calves.
Cattle comprised of a smaller yarding and mixed quality to previous weeks with cattle showing seasonal conditions still selling to good rates to an enthusiastic buying panel.
The yarding was drawn from Cloncurry, Mt Isa, Burketown, Croydon, Hughenden, Ingham and local and coastal areas.

Bullocks were quoted 10 dearer, heifers were 20 dearer, cows were 10 dearer and bulls were unchanged on last week's rates.
Steers and bullocks under 500kg sold to 331c and averaged 270c, and those over 500kg topped at 336c to average 305c. Heifers under 440kg sold to 300c and averaged 224c, while heifers over 440kg topped at 297c, averaging 295c. Cows under 400kg made 225c and averaged 154c, while cows over 400kg reached 260c, averaging 231c. Bulls under 450kg made 282c and averaged 254c, while bulls over 450kg reached 319c to average 278c.
Bullocks sold on account of Paul Minuzzo, Charters Towers that weighed 673kg returned $2260/head while the best priced trade heifers were sold by the Humphreys family, Bushland Beach for 297/kg. Weighing 458kg they returned $1361/head.
The top pen of cows were sold by Hillgrove Pastoral, Charters Towers for 260/kg weighing 502kg to return $1305/head.
Bulls sold on account of Belfast Investments, Winton, topped at 319/kg and weighed 880kg to return $2808/head.

Store cattle were of limited numbers to last week, with mixed quality yarded. Rates were in line with the quality of cattle.
Steers under 200kg reached 220c to average 220c, steers 200 - 320kg sold to 303c, averaging 271c, steers 320 - 400kg topped at 277c and averaged 238c and steers over 400kg sold to 278c to average 248c.
Heifers under 200kg topped at 220c and averaged 150c, heifers 200 - 320kg sold to 220c, averaging 176c, and heifers 320 - 370kg made 246c to average 246c.
A pen of steers that sold on account of GA Pickering and RB Fitzgerald, Croydon made 303/kg and weighed 226kg, returning an average of $684/head.
A good pen of Brahman heifers sold by RB and DA Von Wald, Charters Towers made 246/kg, weighing 340kg to return $837/head.
Cows and calves were insufficient to quote.
