North west Queensland racing fans donned their finery on October 12 for the Cloncurry Cup.
Damien Finter-trained galloper Deadly Choices built on his success in Mount Isa a week earlier to win round three of the Queensland Country Cups Challenge.
The easy Cloncurry triumph - he won by nearly fur lengths over Loud Enough and Snippy Strategic - could clear his passage to Brisbane for the $105,000 Challenge at Doomben on November 30 when he could seek redemption after narrow failure in a previous city visit.
In June Deadly Choices was hailed as the likely winner of the $175,000 Battle of the Bush Final when a posse surged across the line, only for him to lose the verdict by a nose.
