Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 938 head on Wednesday.
Cattle consisted of 612 prime cattle and 324 store cattle. The prime cattle consisted of 85 bullocks, nine heifers, 403 cows and 115 bulls.
Store cattle consisted of 214 steers, 108 heifers and four cows and calves.
Cattle comprised a few lines of lighter cattle along with local bullocks and cows.
The yarding was drawn from Normanton, Julia Creek, Richmond, Bowen, Collinsville, as well as local and coastal areas.

Bullocks were quoted as unchanged, heifers were 10c easier, cows were 6c dearer and bulls were 5-7c easier on last week's rates.
Steers and bullocks under 500kg sold to 294c and averaged 233c, and those over 500kg topped at 307c to average 289c. Heifers under 440kg sold to 269c and averaged 204c. Cows under 400kg made 218c and averaged 139c, while cows over 400kg reached 239c, averaging 222c. Bulls under 450kg made 270c and averaged 205c, while bulls over 450kg reached 274c to average 236c.
Bullocks topped at 307c for four Brahman ox sold on a/c Murray Family Trust, Prairie, that weighed 523kg to return $1605/hd. Best priced trade heifers were presented on a/c James Muller, Bluewater, that sold 265c and weighed 420kg to return $1113/hd.
The top pen of cows were sold by JW and CN Gilmore for 239c and weighed 510kg to return $1219/hd. Bulls sold on a/c Colls Earthmoving topped at 272c and weighed 800kg, to return $2177/hd.

Store cattle were yarded from Julia Creek, Normanton, Collinsville, Bowen, local and coastal areas. The yarding was very mixed showing signs of the prevailing season. The market improved by 4-10c for steers and heifers were down 6- 8c.
Steers under 200kg reached 304c to average 261c, steers 200 - 320kg sold to 295c, averaging 263c, and steers 320 - 400kg topped at 252c and averaged 246c. Heifers under 200kg topped at 220c and averaged 145c, heifers 200 - 320kg sold to 230c, averaging 174c, and heifers 320 - 370kg made 226c to average 197c.
A pen of 20 steers a/c Nardoo Pastoral made 295c and weighed 266kg, returning an average of $783/hd. A good pen of four heifers a/c JG and RH Rich made 230c, weighed 280kg and returned an average of $644/hd. Cows and calves were insufficient to quote.
