Talana Limousins has topped at $10,000 at their annual bull sale held on Thursday at the Ag-Grow Selling Complex, Emerald.
A total of 21 bulls sold from 26 sold for an average of $5761, which saw a clearance of 81 per cent, better than their 2018 result.
Repeat buyer who paid the top price in 2018 Laurence and Patricia Hack, Rocklea, Alpha paid the top price of $10,000 for 23 month old Talana Nyles (P) a French pure horned, apricot bull sired by Talana Poll Fastrack (ET) (GLGFF59) (P) (PU).
Garry Graham, Talana Limousins said he was the absolute performance bull of the year and was one of the heaviest bulls at their sale. He was the second calf of a 37-month-old female and he "oozes maternal and carcase productivity".
Mr Hack said his temperament was ideal, he was a growthy bull for his age, was polly and there weren't many better bulls around to pick from.
The Hack family are based in the Alpha district and been cross breeding for over 60 years and will put the bull over Limousin cross Charolais cows.
Coobyanga Pastoral, Clermont bought two bulls to average $7500 and J and E Bridgeman bought two bulls for a total of $9000.
GM Pedersen and son, Wyseby Station, Rolleston are repeat buyers of the Talana Limousins and this year bought seven bulls to average $5428.
They paid the second top price of the sale for Talana Norman, a 24-month-old, French Pure horned bull by Talana Aloicious (ET) (GLGFA29) (PU) for $8500.
Grant and Kay, GKW Pastoral Holdings also purchased seven bulls to average $5214, with their top price of $7500 for Talana Poll Nautilus a son of Talana Poll Hannibal (GLGFH107) (P) (PU).
With only seven active bid cards Anthony Ball, Elders said it was a good solid sale with a good spread of local buyers who came from around Alpha, Springsure and Emerald.
Mr Ball said it was a credit to the Graham family to see the repeat buyers supporting the sale and it showed the quality of bulls on offer.
