The Gracemere combined agents presented 3259 head, comprising 1350 steers, 1106 heifers, 731 cows, 42 bulls and 30 cow and calf units.
Cattle came from all areas of Central Queensland between Mackay and Monto and west to Rolleston.
In what was a reasonable quality yarding the drop in condition was noticeable in the cows and many of the younger cattle penned. Slaughter cattle remained firm with bullocks increasing an average of 15c/kg.
Slaughter steers sold to 310c, average 294c, steers 400-500kg made 297c, average 270c, steers 300-400kg reached 273c, average 239c, steers 200-300kg made 266c, average 205c and steers under 200kg sold to 186c, average 166c.
Slaughter cows sold to 228c, average 196c, cows 400-450kg made 205c, average 162c, cows 320-400kg reached 180c, average 124c, and cows under 320kg made 80c, average 69c.
Heavy heifers sold to 246c, average 229c, heifers 300-400kg made 242c, average 209c, heifers 200-300kg reached 220c, average 163c, and heifers under 200kg made 182c, average 140c.
Cows and calves sold to $920/unit, average $767/unit.
