Regional businesses have been recognised in the list of finalists for the Premier of Queensland's Export Awards.
This year's finalists include businesses from the Gold Coast to Far North Queensland.
Nominated in both the sustainability and emerging exporter categories is groundbreaking business Natural Evolutions, dreamt up by Krista and Rob Watkins to turn wasted fruit and vegetables into food protein powders, starting with green banana flour and moving on to to create sweet potato flour.
Darling Downs feedlot operator Mort & Co is among the finalists in the agribusiness, food and beverages award, along with Burleigh Heads-based specialist butcher Top Cut Foods.
Toowooomba-based precision planting equipment manufacturer Norseman Machinery Imports is a finalist in the emerging exporter division while earthmoving machinery manufacturer Digga Australia is a finalist in the manufacturing and advanced materials award.
Winners will be announced on October 10 at a gala dinner held at Brisbane City Hall.
