Mareeba combined agents penned 576 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale, an increase of 222 on the previous week. The sale average was back 12c/kg mainly due to the number of lighter weight cows and store females. Values for slaughter bullocks improved by 8c and slaughter bulls gained 6c on the previous week.
The yarding consisted of 111 steers av 230c selling to a top of 273c, 62 bulls av 204c selling to a top of 278c, 282 cows av 156c selling to a top of 196c, 33 heifers av 185c selling to a top of 207c, 38 yearling heifers av 143c selling to a top of 172c and 46 yearling steers av 144c selling to a top of 192c. The sale was attended by the usual group of buyers and traders.
