Emerald Agents had an increased yarding to just under 2000 head on offer on Thursday. A large portion of the yarding consisted of slaughter cattle which experienced rates slightly cheaper than last week. Weaner types came under strong competition to see most of their categories increasing from 10-15c.
Heavy bullocks over 550kg topped at 295c to average 283c, steers 500-550kg topped at 282c to average 258c, while steers 400-500kg made to 286c to average 272c. Steers 350-400kg topped at 272c to average 253c, 280-350kg steers made to 320c to average 267c, while steers in the weaner weight ranges made to 292c to average 258c.
Heavy heifers over 400kg topped at 275c to average 247c, heifers 350-400kg topped at 251c to average 242c, while heifers 280-350kg made to 247c to average 215c. Heifers in the weaner weight ranges made to 260c to average 223c. Cows over 520kg made to 217c to average 206c, while cows 450-520kg topped at 213c to average 193c. No cows and calves were penned.
