Mareeba Combined Agents penned 487 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale. Numbers increased by 144 head on the previous week. Values were back on the sale.
Prime bullocks didn't reach the top of last week, back 20c/kg. Prime cows also lost some value back 20c. Local trade heifers gained 10c, while slaughter bulls were back.
The yarding consisted of 68 bulls averaging 183.7c selling to a top of 234.2c, 140 cows averaging 140.9c selling to a top of 194.2c, 58 heifers averaging 166.7c selling to a top of 198.2c, 160 steers averaging 213.4c selling to a top of 245c, 48 yearling heifers averaging 156.4c selling to a top of 200.2c and 11 yearling steers averaging 217.8c selling to a top of 219.2c.
The usual local wholesale buyers, meat processors and local traders were present.
