CQLX Gracemere saw a reduced yarding to 2274 head, comprising 1050 steers, 869 heifers, 319 cows, 20 bulls and 16 cow and calf lots. Cattle were drawn from various areas throughout the Central Highlands, down to Taroom and north to Mackay.
The majority of articles were moderate in quality and condition, with younger cattle being commendable. Various restockers conducted avid competition, resulting in a solid market and price increases on last week's rates, particularly in steer categories.
Slaughter steers sold to 267c, average 243c, steers 400-500kg made 286c, average 275c, steers 300-400kg reached 280c, average 250c, steers 200-300kg made 296c, average 237c and steers under 200kg sold to 282c, average 216c.
Slaughter cows sold to 210c, average 170c, cows 400-450kg made 199c, average 149c, cows 320-400kg reached 185c, average 123c, and cows under 320kg made 100c, average 61c.
Heavy heifers sold to 234c, average 209c, heifers 300-400kg made 234c, average 208c, heifers 200-300kg reached 216c, average 167c, and heifers under 200kg made 190c, average 140c.
