Good times await guests of all ages when the Burdekin Show arrives at the Ayr Showgrounds on Wednesday, June 26.
Ayr Pastoral, Agricultural & Industrial Association treasurer Fina Towler said the show is a much anticipated annual event for the Burdekin district and the surrounding area.
"All ages are catered for with many displays and attractions in the pavilion and hall. The varied entertainment ensures there's always something interesting to see and do," Ms Towler said.
"The Burdekin Show is a great place to meet and gather with friends and family while enjoying the welcoming country atmosphere."
Ms Towler said the slate of family fun and entertainment includes the Aussie FMX, Australia's top freestyle motocross show, which is sure to provide an adrenaline-shot to the system of all onlookers.
"Children will love getting up close with the goats, miniature pigs and other adorable creatures at Melville's Animal Farm, and be sure to tour the showgrounds on Timmy the Train."
She said other attractions which are sure to excite the young and the young at heart include: the Willow's Mobile Slot Cars; Polly's Crafts spin art and sand art; fifth-generation circus performer Lewis Gilmore and his mates Chomper the T-Rex and his adopted baby triceratops.
"There will be camel rides; Borys Zagrocki performing extreme bicycle stunts; pig racing, and Luke's Reptile Kingdom will allow visitors to explore the largest reptile display in Queensland."
Ms Towler said traditional show attractions will be front and center over the day with arts, craft and flower displays to be available for inspection, while the time-honoured two day equestrian program will also be held.
"Of course, visitors will also be able to load up on show bags and showtime treats, while enjoying a plethora of rides and side show alley entertainment."
She said the special day on the Burdekin social calendar will culminate with a breathtaking fireworks display for all to enjoy.
From 9.30am to 11am adults will be able to enter for $5, students for $2, and children aged five years and enter can enter for free all day. After 11am standard ticket prices will apply, so take advantage of the early bird specials.
