CQLX saw a reduced yarding of 1970 head on Friday due to the weaner sale on Wednesday, comprising of 633 steers, 697 heifers, 593 cows, nine bulls and 21 cow and calf lots. Prices remained firm with the previous Friday's rates. Fat and store cows saw the largest number increase, with consignments from predominantly local areas, including Banana and Mackay.
Slaughter steers sold to 274c, average 265c, steers 400-500kg made 268c, average 261c, steers 300-400kg reached 266c, average 248c, steers 200-300kg made 266c, average 239c and steers under 200kg sold to 248c, average 215c.
Slaughter cows sold to 226c, average 167c, cows 400-450kg made 241c, average 265c, cows 320-400kg reached 224c, average 125c, and cows under 320kg made 122c, average 109c.
Heavy heifers sold to 242c, average 231c, heifers 300-400kg made 238c, average 200c, heifers 200-300kg reached 218c, average 183c, and heifers under 200kg made 184c, average 158c.
