Forget the reality television cooking shows and the Olympic Games; the Richmond Field Days Ringers Challenge Richmond Style is where true competition lies.
The competition will take place at 5.30pm on Saturday, June 15 at the Richmond Turf Club and is open to the brave and those with a competitive spirit.
The list of events could take in just about anything with competitors encouraged to brush up on all manner of rural skills.
The challenges faced may not be for the feint of heart either, with plenty of dust and cheering crowds adding to the spectacle.
Last year, nine teams competed.
The grueling course included eating a whole lemon, a dry Weet-Bix, a cattle pregnancy test, plank walking, a blind wheel-barrow race and rolling bales of hay, with teams competing in pairs to undertake the tasks.
The event will help wrap up the Richmond Races afternoon, and bring to conclusion the Richmond Field Days.
While the events might be a bit light-hearted, the prizes are worth vying for.
First place will receive two Gough Plastic Tough Boxes plus $400 cash in prize money per team.
Second place will receive $300 cash per team with third place snaring $200 cash per team. The event is being sponsored by Total Energy Solar and Hastings Deering.
