LNP incumbent David Littleproud has retained the seat of Maranoa.

He was the clear front-runner from the time votes began being counted, claiming more than 70 per cent of votes on a two party preferred basis after 50pc had been counted.

Mr Littleproud has garnered support from his time as federal Agriculture Minister in Queensland's largest federal electorate.

Reflecting on his time in these roles prior to election day, Mr Littleproud said he was proud to secure nearly $7 billion for drought and flood relief for farmers and rural communities, and to bring in new laws to protect farmers from animal activists.

"Families, farmers and business owners are put under immense mental strain because of drought and I will continue to advocate for efficient and accessible mental health care - on top of the $174 million roll-out of local mental health programs," he said.

"I am proud to say that I am a product of the Maranoa, where I've been able to build a career, start a business, travel the world, raise a family, and represent its residents as the local member.

"My responsibility as the member is to make sure more of our next generation have the same opportunity to do that here in Maranoa."
