Gracemere's yarding on Friday more than doubled last week's, to total 4634 head, comprising of 1933 steers, 1861 heifers, 529 cows, 22 bulls and 70 cow and calf lots. Several larger lines were secured from Central Queensland and local areas, with yearling heifers and quality bulls seeing a firm to medium increase on rates. All remaining areas eased slightly relative to the number increase, despite the upturn of buyers and restockers.
Slaughter steers sold to 275c, average 270c, steers 400-500kg made 279c, average 261c, steers 300-400kg reached 308c, average 258c, steers 200-300kg made 312c, average 266c and steers under 200kg sold to 304c, average 248c.
Slaughter cows sold to 234c, average 198c, cows 400-450kg made 212c, average 185c, cows 320-400kg reached 200c, average 173c, and cows under 320kg made 160c, average 108c.
Heavy heifers sold to 232c, average 226c, heifers 300-400kg made 238c, average 219c, heifers 200-300kg reached 238c, average 205c, and heifers under 200kg made 250c, average 193c.
Cows and calves sold to $1225/unit, average $1021/unit.
Bulls over 600kg made 306c, average 258c, bulls 450-600kg reached 273c, average 258c and bulls under 450kg sold to 266c, average 228c.
